Vermont from one thousand feet
About these photographs:
The series of photos presented here is a small portion of a larger project, to photograph every town in the state of Vermont. These twelve individual photos are part of a set of several hundred individual photos of each town, small and large that can be identified from the air while flying one thousand feet above the ground.
Each print is high resolution, digital color and is taken using Canon cameras and lenses. Glossy prints are used to give the best depth and render details faithfully. I’ve also tried to photograph each town with some of the surrounding terrain to show each town in proper context.
This is an ongoing project that should be completed by the fall of 2008. I have spent many hours in the air above Vermont and will continue to fly over our towns and cities until this project is complete.
I am a Systems Engineer turned photographer and moved to Vermont in the fall of 2003. I am a professional photography student at the New York Institute of Photography. I am also a licensed pilot and have found a great way to bring flying and photography together.
Thanks for your interest.
